The short version. Your notes are yours. You can use Notiero without an account, and what you write stays on your device. Nothing you type is sent anywhere unless you turn on sync, and even then it is encrypted. We never read your notes.
When you write in Notiero, your notes are saved in your own browser or app on your device. You do not need an account to start, and if you never sign in, your notes never leave your device.
If you lock a note with a password, it is encrypted on your device. The password stays with you. We cannot read a locked note, and we cannot recover it if you forget the password.
Signing in turns on sync so your notes can travel between your devices. When sync is on, your notes are encrypted before they are stored, using a key tied to your account. We store the encrypted copy so it can reach your other devices. We do not read it, and it is not used for anything else.
Turn sync off or sign out at any time. Signing out on a device removes the local copy of your synced notes from that device.
Notiero runs on hosting and analytics services that process this data on our behalf so the app can work and so we can see anonymous usage. Some optional features, like turning a note into a study aid, send the text you chose to a processing service only for that request, and only when you ask for it.
You can use Notiero fully without an account. You can export your notes at any time. You can delete a note, empty the trash, or sign out to remove the local copy. To delete your account and its synced data, or to ask what is stored, contact us below.
Notiero is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
